No they're not. Don't act like the FMCSA is a well-oiled machine running on a shoestring budget. There's plenty of WFA that can and should be eliminated, just like in every other federal agency.

Let's say that all of 14% that were cut were useless, and say another 10% of the agency could better spend their time. How can that result in a 25% increase in enforcement?

WFA? If you meant work from home, it has nothing to do with whether a role is needed or the person in it is effective.

We all know that having fewer employees means that they will take our calls quicker when we have a problem and need to talk to someone live..maybe a call center in India but just think how much we saved, lol.

Wait until drivers start having problems with their medical certificates, carriers and brokers trying to get through the inevitable bugs when we drop the MC numbers..

No sane person thinks cutting a system that we rely on unless they are trying to protect someone.

For those who are advocating bigger govt agency clearly demonstrate you know nothing..bigger govt doesn’t fix anything but actually makes it worse..some of you folks are literally clueless

You want all the authorities issued in the last 10 years audited. How do you propose to do that? Where does the staffing and funding come from?

How about a leaner government office? We don’t need bloated government office… You’re advocating for more but the government has never been bigger and look how poorly run they are… You obviously have zero clue

You want a leaner government office? Fine.

You want to audit every authority issued in the last 10 years? Fine.

Tell me how we can accomplish both?

It’s easy they can easily accomplish an audit with a leaner meaner government agency… We don’t need a bloated government agency. I don’t know why people like you think that we need larger government… Larger government is not the answer… there are too many duplicative jobs currently eliminate quite a few of them and make certain people take on more responsibility because currently many of them sit around and twiddle their thumbs, and don’t do their job as it is so obviously they can take on more… They can go find another line of work. It’s really that simple

They can do as many electronic compliance reviews in a week as they did all last year.
And those are done through a computer program.

Can you show me the duplicated jobs in FMCSA? Can you show me the employees doing little or no work? Show me these things and I will happily join you in cutting the fat.

I think the way I do because people like you haven't put forward anything more than talking points. When you do make cuts, things become worse. In 2018 FMCSA had it's budget slashed. The problems we faced then are the same we face now - just much, much worse. So show me a plan, with details about what funding and staffing is required to do the audit you want in the most efficient way possible. The tell me which programs and staffing you want to cut to pay for it.
