To be honest, if I owned a trucking company I would not hire someone with less then 10 years since a rollover. I also would not hire for some of the other things carriers today seem to be overlooking. In fact, I might consider just shutting it down or selling out first. However, this is my opinion and it is not the basic overall atmosphere today in the industry.

Basically today rollover accidents are caused by too much speed in a curve. You can't speed through a curve in a high center of gravity vehicle and not expect it to flip. Interstate exits in some places have a bad history. I have lost count of the times I have followed a truck going from I 285 westbound outer loop onto I85 Northbound and see their back tandem right side tires dance. Rolling a truck over shows me a driver that does not respect their truck, and might never will. In this area, I don't believe in second chances.

Drivers that have the wind to blow them over is different. I have come close to having this happen to me more than once. My father taught me something years ago that has stuck with me about the weather. If you don't see other trucks on the road for a while YOU might have better reconsider your choice to get out. Most safety depts will look at these accidents on a case by case basis.

I'm old school, I make no apologies for my opinion about carelessness as it affects trucking. A bit of trivia to think about. Most all of the large carriers self underwrite their insurance. If they pay out 2 or 3 million to pay off accidents they might have to cut back on tractor or trailer purchases. I know of a carrier that canceled a truck order about 10 years ago because of this. I also think they canceled some trailer orders as well. The owners are going to get theirs, you can count on that! So you tear up a truck it in essence hurts all of the drivers.

you mean to tell me your eyes were on your GPS instead of the road. Young man, GPS is to find your way close to where you have to go, not every foot of your route. ####, Put that freaking turd away. Major distraction. Im not going to say anymore, because I will get in trouble here.
