There are fights that are worth having. Anytime a company tells you to run illegally, it is the time to fight. There are also cases out there where drivers have been fire for making a shipper remove freight that put the load over weight. You will win but you have to be in position to survive long enough to win. It is hard to fight the fight alone. Which is one reason I support OOIDA and other groups.

Some drivers screw around and waste they're hours and then cant get the load delivered. If your doing a good job most companies are not gonna fire ya for one late delivery.

I wouldn't want to go back to work for that company. But the $ is well deserved.
Our guys don't like long hauls because it means more time away from family so I got a couple that try to run out of hours and I have to call him and tell him to stop. Go to sleep, ######.

Keep telling yourself that. I know for a fact there bosses out there that will get very mad if you refuse to drive a truck and even madder if you go through the scale and get a level one. I got sick of writing up the same problem for four months and the state cop did me a huge favor by forcing the company to fix it. My current company couldn't be more different. I've called in for a broken mud flap that second shift broke . They had me drop the load and go get it fixed right away.

The companies that run outlaw and wont fix stuff are mostly gonna be the small 12 truck outfits. Some drivers out here just dont do they're jobs. If the company really was screwing him then im with the driver.

I could stand to make millions if I wanted to pick a fight against all those who fired me for refusing to deliver against the log books. And you wonder why I do the things I did with them...

    Dominick253 Thanks this.

Just curious, back before e-logs became so widely used could you still win a case like this? I'd think it'd be a bit tougher to prove through paper logs, but I guess I could be completely wrong.
