Trucking Companys are not hiring !!! lets say state that is a fact

I think its a "you" thing. No one else seems to be having issues. Have a friend who got his CDL a couple days ago and got hired in at swift as a new driver. @Chinatown has recomended many other companys plus your drug test comment a while back may have gotten you blackballed.

Let’s say you own a company and freight is slowing down, would you rather hire an experienced driver that has something to offer or would you take a chance on a new driver? Lots of places are hiring if someone has the right qualifications and experience.

 

my employer just hired guy who had to be told to open BOTH trailers doors when backing into dock..new hires still getting jobs

 

They are still hiring . Just not as many as before and so they can be more selective about who they hire .

I know of a small company that hires new inexperienced drivers and puts them through a 9 month training program at half driver pay .

but they are very selective and require a clean driving record , clean credit record , and a clean criminal record .

of the drivers graduating from the local community college, only about 5 out of a hundred students are even eligible to apply because of their criminal or credit or driving background.

i'm retired, and turned in my CDL, and 3 days ago a former employer offered to pay for me to get back my CDL, and i'm WELL over 70 yrs old..!

i actually give it very serious thought. the Mrs knows at times, i miss the roads.

i dunno.

i also like my recliner,

i'd be more interested in dispatching, i can fit a recliner in that office with no issues.
