From what i have read,trailers like that were for dedicated runs.

 

they're called "Camel Tankers" here..

 

Trailer maker lindner und fischer fahrzeugbau used to make such trailers in mid 90s with curtainsider. I think i have photos of it behind SK

 

We used to be like you ....... short wheelbase. But we evolved...

 

Same here. I think Westcan runs/used to run them.
Found a different solution while googling. www.returnhauler.com makes a tanker/flatbed combo but the tank lifts out of the way and the flatbed load goes under the tanker.

 

My homie wrenches for them. I'll try and remember to ask him if they run those. Might be a regional thing because I've never seen a Westcan unit like that in BC/AB before.

 

We just build better roads so we don't have to build fancy trailers

 

@pushbroom I texted my buddy about those trailers. He hasn't seen any in his time there.
