Yes, I can’t make the math work. That’s why I don’t have one.... well the wife too.
But anyways they pay about $120 an hour for mix. Then haul materials by ton and some road salt in the winter.

is there anything similar in america?
here literally everyone has them, some people even 100% of fleet
how big crane should be, it is hard question, in most cases you can divide grossweight by 1.5, for example above 18t /1,5 = 12mt, municipals usually have slightly smaller.
once crane size is equal to grossweight of 2-3 axle truck, you have to count on some compromise, like lack of traction (on 4x2/6x2/6x4), shorter bearing life, more frequent service on front end, bushings, king pins, etc.
you have count that this is more crane truck than truck, so driving ability become worst, especially when empty as half of weight is forward.
my colleague has now interesting 4x2 truck 3,6m long tipper and big crane. we had to lower total weight by 500kg in order to avoid overload on front axle. also crane cant be folded otherwise would be front axle overload by 7%. i was involved in technical part as this is 60% stronger crane than you would see as maximum on such truck. it will be used for inner city (old one) construction works where larger trucks cant access, especially roof part, building restauration (lets say someone wants to bring pallet trough balcony, and for boat liftingdaf105paccar Thanks this. -
