Trucking in North America vs around the world

My cousin has one of his chicken farms on Vye rd. Also reports police stopping everyone trying to rescue man or beast. Almost all, or all, of his chickens are now lost, several hundred thousand head. No human lives lost among family or employees, thank G-d.

It is 40000kg gvw, it is empty 16850kg, so 23150kg.

We have here 3% tollerance, so 24350kg without problems.
Volume is 22.4q yrd.

It is quite heavy, reinforced body for rocks, steel suspension steel wheels...

In technical way mb declare it as 97k. It is no problem at all to use it all time 108-110k. But you need to raise body a bit for that. So this is first they do after trucks are imported.

 

If you want to get superlight than you need alu wheels, air suspension some compromizes on chassis, like smaller hub reduction axles, alu tanks, other brand... Lightweight 2/3way tipper can get empty weight down to 15000kg.

If you go to rear tipper you can save bit more weight. Maybe 500kg. If you go to even lighter chassis using hypoid axles, no retarder, on road tires, and full alu body you can bring it down to 14000kg. This still inclueds steel body subframe.
In europe only UK guys make tippers without subframe. And i saw one swiss scania without

 

What is the difference between the 13t and 16t hub reduction rear axles for mercedes? They look the same and have the same ring gear diameter.

I think Sisu tippers come without subframe also.
