is there a possibility to order straight front axle on american trucks?

this is condition nr1 when I talk about any work truck
2nd condition are hub reduction axles
3rd condition is all round spring suspension and flexible frame

in 70s and 80s MAN had inverted front axle, so you had extra ground clearance, like 1,5ft under front axle

So International is introducing their new 13 liter engine, no EGR, single stage turbo, no DOC..... Am I right to assume this is a Scania engine coming to the US? Heavy on the DEF fluid?

Any of our Euro friends familiar with this engine? Comments?

    NEXT-GEN AFTERTREATMENT
Because there’s no EGR during regular operation, NOx must be treated a different way. To do this, the engineers developed an all-new Dual Stage Aftertreatment design that injects a first dose of DEF just downstream of the turbo in the evaporator tube and a second dose inside the aftertreatment container. Since a cooled EGR has been eliminated from the combustion chamber, much less soot or particulate matter is generated. This allows for extended service intervals and eliminates the need for active regens. In fact, the cleaner combustion cycle has so much less soot the engineers were able to eliminate the need for a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) in the aftertreatment system. Combined, the aftertreatment system provides a simple, reliable solution that’s easily serviceable.

No EGR is good. The recirculated soot is what's ruining the longevity of engines.

I just wish they'd put the timing gears on the front. Have to pull the transmission off to open the cover. At least up front its not an issue.

It's not for road use, but Cat is doing something similar.

yes scania/man engine, still available only in scania (man again delayed production), bore/stroke is same as scania had before, it is made of mixed scania/man parts, oil cap is vw from passenger cars....i am bit afraid vw did too much of cost saving on this one.
it has single cylinder head, something scania never had before, dohc, engine brake (scania never had it before, their way of thinking was engine is used to pull not to brake).
adblue (def) is 12% of fuel consumption. price of adblue is currently very expensive in europe, its price went 3x up in last year...
