What do you mean Milk and Sushi don't go together?
I always have a glass of milk with my sushi.
Anywho I was looking at property on the Big Island this past year, more of an investment thing but may move there. I was warned that life can get very boring there very fast, you can only take so much of Paradise for so long being a transplant and from my former boss who moved there, stayed for six years and now is living back here, it got to her, she is a very active person, hyper and always doing somehting but she said it just got to her.
But if you do make the move, good luck.

You can't buy land in Hawaii unless you have a certain percentage of Hawaiian heritage. All other must lease the property
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Given that most of the top City gov't officials in Honolulu are now under FBI investigation, 4 separate special prosecutors, I'm not sure I'd want to be anywhere near there. I haul contianers, we get a lot of people going to/from Hawaii and New Mexico. Last 4 people that have come back from Hawaii have said they wouldn't do it again, the cost of living is outrageous, the corruption is through the roof. Last guy was a contractor, born and raised in Mn., moved to Hawaii in 1988, made a decent living building houses, home inspections, remodels. Said in the last 8 or 9 yrs, the corruption is beyond stupid, bribes not uncommon.

I know people who own land there though and they are from Texas. I mean maybe they did something or found a loophole to get it. I'll ask them.
Why would I swim to work if im already on the island?Lepton1 Thanks this. -

I know that. I'm not planning on buying there. I was just saying. Yeah milk is expensive but if you eat stuff that comes off the island it isn't so bad.
I don't live in a cheap place now so it's not really that different. Just certain things cost more and some is the same. Going out to eat is actually cheaper there for what you get and rent is the same price.
I don't need much, two bedroom place and a old 4Runner and I'm good. Also would have dual income with my girl.
Do you live there? What are the driving jobs to get besides food service and bus driver? -
NO MILK FOR YOU!!!SingingWolf and Skate-Board Thank this. -
