Trucking interview. What to wear?

I would skip the tie. A good pair of jeans, a belt, a nice polo shirt, and a shave/haircut should do you fine. Sounds like they really want to show you their operations, so I'd take some PPE with just in case, gloves, hardhat, glasses, high-vis vest and make sure your boots are steel toe. Can't hurt to be prepared.

 

No tie. A nice, clean work shirt. Look like you are ready to be assigned a truck and start your pretrip. Jeans are a good choice. Boots are a good choice.

Polo shirt is a good option. Another might be a button down shirt, like a lightweight denim. It depends on the company you are interviewing with. If their cargo requires long sleeves, like a fire retardant shirt, I would wear that. For general freight a Polo is fine.

Look at how other drivers dress when you interview. If you get the job dress as they do, but a notch above. That should be a good rule of thumb.

 

I would go with kaki pants and button shirt/Polo......or pajama pants and tshirt, depending on how much you want to job. Just remember that not only do you have to impress your potential employer, you also have to impress their customers.

 

I've always worn some slacks with a casual looking tucked in button down shirt and a pair of CLEAN work boots.

 

Sweatpants, flipflops, and maybe some fresh mustard stains on a wifebeater. Don't forget to reject bathing for at least a week. Do that, and you can be a supertrucker within a month. Just sign this lease purchase agreement....
