Do what the boss said and don't dress up. Like others suggested, good looking work boots, jeans, and a button up or Polo. You'll look sharp and ready to go to work

Darker jeans, wrangler. A plain western shirt and hat. A belt that has a matte hardware and steel toe boots. Obviously if you are going to be standing outside in the yard at 120 degree weather it will not do well. So get knee cut denim short such as Dickies etc and a shirt that will be some what taller. And steel toe something. A plain ball cap or hat will finish it.

Don't be fancy. Don't be slob. But go as if you are getting ready to be sent somewhere in the truck that day.

I once showed up inside DM Bowman's willamsport corperate offices in 104 degree weather having come up from Alabama'/s 115-120 that week and I did not have much on. Everyone inside the office was a suit to the max. I mean three layer and vest and tie etc Communial red faces and choking going on all around. They sent someone to tell me off and that cost them a driver that week. It's a shame. I never liked suits to this day. I depise them.

I recommend going to Walmart to the mens work clothes section and get a pair of khaki pants and navy blue long sleeved work shirt. A pair of steel toed slipon style work boots. Take a pair of work gloves in case they want to give you a road test you'll be prepared to hook up the trailer.

I didn't see what kind of company he was applying to.

Flatbed, bring your gear to work, gloves and hi vest. I will almost guarantee they want to see you on the yard.

Tanker, foodservice and LTL normally wear uniforms. If applying to one of these, go to Wal-Mart like C Town said and get as close to uniform as you can.

How else would you dress for a job interview? Ive seen people interview in shorts. Your applying for a job not going to the beach. You can always go and drive for a mega. They dont care how you look as long as you look good on paper.
