Don't know much, if anything, about oil field hiring, but here's two companies that haul supplies to oil fields.
I know for a fact these two sometimes hire new cdl grads., so apply if you like either. Ignore any experience required, because many companies waive that these days.

I did that and got a 2 year card. But my company wouldn't accept it. They did their own physical and I got a 1 year card only. I have to do my next physical tomorrow or Tuesday... again. This will be my 3rd in 2 years.

They tell me my blood pressure is high. People in my family that studied medical stuff tell me that you cannot get an accurate reading about a persons blood pressure with just 1 reading. But the DOT will make or break you off just 1 single test. That's why my blood pressure goes up. My mother has the same issue. Her blood pressure is fine but it goes up when she's tested.

I hate those stupid physicals. I'm 36 and good enough health I load my own trailer no problem. 6'0 and about 170 lbs.

It could be that I am genetically disposed to high blood pressure. My dad already has heart disease.

Schneider also does a bio metric exam on top of physical/drug/strength test - where they place little electric pads all over your body and record you doing movements. It’s hilarious.

My younger sister has a Masters Degree in one of those medical studies. I don't know what it is she studied, it's all the same to me, totally boring. Her husband has a PhD. He did some research on human bone marrow that earned him a doctorate. Anyway she told me last night even just drinking water can raise your blood pressure because you are introducing mass into your blood stream, or something like that.

So if you have your physical in the morning and your aren't totally confident about your blood pressure don't eat anything, no caffeine, and don't drink anything, don't use tobacco. Go in and be tested dehydrated. It can sometimes make a difference.

I told her that the DOT only does one test and makes a determination about your fitness to drive and she said... "WOW"

    DrGearGrinder Thanks this.

There are companies that accept your existing DOT physical. If you have any reservations, go to one of them. You have a valid physical, no need to sweat redoing it.

I went to the same school where they train Stevens drivers. When the doctor who was doing the exam for the medical card asked about any injuries, I told him about a motorcycle accident from a while ago where they put a few staples in my scalp. He said if I were going to Stevens, it's possible that they would not qualify me to drive for them if they found out about it. Since I didn't end up going with them, I don't know if they would or wouldn't hire you, only what the doctor told me.
