Curious what kind of job that got you?

Who are you working for....how much money are you making yearly?

You get what you pay for in this world.

In today's world...in a word yes....most companies now won't hire you as a rookie unless you've been to an accredited school. Insurance companies have a strangle-hold on them as far as their hiring policies go. Years ago....I mean in the 60's now , there were very few "trucking schools". Most of us older hands learned from family members ( like Me ) , or learned in the service.

Tony speaks the truth. I couldn't even land a Class B job because of employment gap. I graduated and updates my resume to include the name of the school and the job offers abound.

It has been worth it to me but it doesn't have to be so expensive. $1200 where I went (Davidson County CC in Mocksville, NC) for 8 weeks mostly driving. Only one day of classroom per week. 2 days on the road, 2 days practicing on the yard each week. Lots of good experience with knowledgeable instructors. Look for something like that. I just graduated and am already setting up an orientation time with a company out of ND that has a base near my home. It definitely pays to go to a reputable trucking school.
