trucking school worth it?

Thanks. Been going hard at it since day one trying to learn everything I can. Not coming from any sort of trucking background I had to start at ground zero which was a real challenge but an enjoyable one too.

 

that's good to hear. neither did I I as well back in January started from zero & got both class A in mid February & passenger endorsement a week after & took all my endorsements. now im on the tankers training in Prime

 

Utilize the WIA program.

 

Have you had any obstacles for doing it on your own?

Then you'll have to sign a contract. Nope. Im fine with my local vocational school with cdl training.

 

A gret thread since I'm entertaining getting a cdl. What is WIA program?

 

It is through unemployment department, (W)orkers (I)nvestment (A)ct - WIA if you are unemployed (due to being laid-off or displaced)go ask them about funding.

BUMP 5 years later and I must say so far I'm loving the industry. It's a life changer from where I came from for sure. hope you all that was responding here 5+ years ago enjoying it as well. Garrison how you enjoying it so far. How the rest of y'all that paid for the school enjoying it so far. I got a total of almost 4 years in chemical tanker experience. I'm just trying to stay away from Van.
