Really.... Why not ask your parents or anyone who is old enough to know but there was a time seat belts were not even put in some cars, and kids out of seat belts along with adults since it wasn't against the law and there were no seat belt laws, happened all the time, I remember growing up not having to use or be required to use seat belts.

we also use to ride in the back of our pick up trucks guess what we and those who have we are still here.

its no more unsafe now then it was 30 plus years ago. How about people just being responsible for their own actions, vs making up rules and regs and getting gooberment involved because we are to lazy to deal with things ourselves and it's much easier just to have the gooberment do it for you.

Well I didn't say anything about the law or government. I stated the FACT that it is unsafe and it was unsafe then. It is common sense. yes we survived, but many small children died that would not die with today's technology. I don't care what the law says, it is ignorant to not keep babies and children secure. Do you let your kids play with lead toys and mercury thermomitors? is your ceiling loaded with asbestos ? people used to think that was all safe too...........

Going to have to disagree w/ you 3468. There are more cars and more cretins on the road now. I actually drove cars & trucks w/ no seat belts. And it was legal. We rode in the p/u bed too. But that was in a far off universe than todays planet earth. Ok i feel old.

And it's people like you that pretty soon we all will have to wear bubble wrap, helmets, body padding, before we are able to take a step outside. The way I see it to each their own just leave those out that don't believe the it's for the children crap laws.....like seat belts....

I bet you also believe the new Hos. Rules that have been laid out for drivers had made trucking safer for everyone too lmao........

You have to be kidding me. So child safety seats are a government conspiracy? It is a KNOWN FACT that child seats save lives, not a theory, not a guess, a FACT. And once again, I never said anything about laws, I am talking about common sense vs ignorance. I don't care what adults do, but children need to be protected from ignorant careless parents.

So you can drive with your seatbelt off, play with lead and snort asbestos, I don't care what you do, just leave the kids out. It is the adults job to protect kids, not endanger them

Ok, its only a fact because most drive like idiots and are only concerned with themselves and getting down the road.....but......

if everyone used common sense, Curtisy, and drove sensibly do you really think we would need a seatbelt law? No different then Hos, if people would have just followed the basic rules in the first place new Hos rules, and elds, wouldn't have been needed or warranted either.

It's when people abuse the freedoms one is given that more dumb rules are put in place.

I agree with you to a degree. But the problem is a good amount of the general public has no common sense and never will. So yes in a perfect world, people would drive carefully and it would be a lot safer. But the world is full of ignorant, careless morons and there is nothing we can do about that. And although I personally am a strong believer in seatbelts and will always use them myself, I do not support seat belt laws for adults. But the subject is children and babies who are not old enough to make the decision for themselves and I fully support laws to protect children form ignorant adults. Anyway, that's enough arguing for me, have a good night.

Boredom is one of the hazards of driving. Next time try finding a different radio station to break the monotony instead of calling the police.

Ask yourself: Is there real imminent danger (not just "breaking the rules") if I do nothing? Will calling have any impact at all? Is it more important than all the other things the police could be working on?

I know I'm not perfect and I wouldn't want someone calling the police on me every time I broke a rule that didn't hurt anyone.
