I just passed my Florida Class A CDL permit test today. I reviewed the Florida Manual, and studied with the TR online test. It also helped I knew alot of the Trucking Laws from my previous job, but I have always been a Trucker deep down inside. Now its time to open my eyes and ears and pay attention to what I am being taught and prove I have what it takes to be on the road.

I applied for the TA card and the Pilot card wondering if these reward cards are worth carrying? They say you get free showers with $50 worth of fuel. That alone sounds like a deal to me if the company lets you use them.

 

Once you start fueling the truck they will be. You build up points which can be used to buy food n such. When you fuel, you can get free showers.

 

Why wouldn't the company let you use the free shower credits? Or do you mean use TA/Petro or Pilot/J for fuel? Prime uses the big boys because that's where they get their fuel discounts. Points can be saved and used for whatever you want. I know that JCW gets coffee and occasional subs. I know many drivers have gotten coolers, cookers, headsets, etc w/ their points.

I meant the Discount cards, I had a company I drove a small diesal for and they would not allow us to get the points on our Pilot cards when we filled up the truck.

 

That sucks. I was told to get the cards. Also get a Sapp Brothers and AmBest card. We fuel there too.
