I do it plenty. I know my supplier treats it and when it's stupid cold I add more. and by more I usually mean a lot more. I'm very much a "if a little is good a lot more has to be better kinda guy"

another good reason to carry a laser thermometer. shoot the fuel in your tanks and see the temp.

That’s a great idea…I’m assuming the colder the temp the higher the dose of anti gel?

    Feedman and Oxbow Thank this.

You are right. Wind chill is a big hype.
All wind chill factors are is how rapidly heat is removed from an object, preferably the bare skin of a person. Thus the start of frostbite.
With machinery it’s how rapidly it gets to the ambient temperature.

That’s why I’m glad I drive a tanker. We have PTO pumps. I can engage the PTO and turn the RPM up to 900.

I have seen shops fill new filters with straight Power Service before. I think you would have to be way over dosed to cause a problem.

Edit to add: That was back when all engines were mechanical though.

I’ve done it myself but not with Power Service I done it multiple times with Howes but with mechanical motors
Just had a conversation 2 hrs ago about that with somebody that did it recently with Power Service and we both tend to think Howes is a better choice but regardless it would be pretty hard to over treat fuel

I don't know which is better but we have had better luck with Howes.

IIRC, the instructions for Power Service 911 tell you to fill the filters with the product.
