hi, any info on the application your husband submitted? keep us updated if he gets called for a job. Thanks, and have a good weekend
-
He's just starting so we don't know yet how it's gonna go, but up until now everybody has been really nice and, more important, very efficient and punctual. He's assuming he will start on one of the older trucks and he doesn't mind. What he cares about is the balance between money/hometime/bull$. No company is the best for everybody, you gotta look for your fit.
I will update in a few weeks after we know how it's going. You know, after the honeymoon is over : )
I don't want to start one of those "I Love this Company" threads that become "I Hate this Company" after a week.123456 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me what kind of hometime they said he was gonna get? I'm thinking about putting an application in and my main concern is the hometime, which seems like it would be a good amount of time at home. It seems like it was pretty quick from when he put app in till he is starting. Thanks for any other info.

Weekends at home seem to be pretty standard for them, which is REALLY hard to find in Central Florida. I was surprised myself about how quickly they responded, since they don't seem to be advertising for drivers. I did send them absolutely everything they could need, together with the application. Of course we still had to wait until they verified everything but they were very quick about it. They don't have an online application though, they mailed him one. I will PM you my phone number, feel free to call anytime.
I will still update the whole process here later, I'm very grateful for all the information I have gathered from the forum and will make available as much information as I can here, it's just too early. Call me.BFL123 Thanks this. -
Hi, I tried calling today to see how things are going. Just checking here for any updates. I'll try a call tomorrow sometime. Thanks again

Sorry, I usually don't answer numbers I don't recognize unless I'm expecting a call. Leave me a message and I'll call you right back.

Hi, any new info to post? How is the job? Thanks for any new info.

Not much really. He hasn't even received his first settlement yet but up until now he is very happy. He got an old truck. I guess everybody starts on one of those, but they have plenty of newer ones so it should be just a matter of time. He's not in a hurry though, he doesn't really care about that as long as it's well maintained and it seems to be.
Everybody seems to be really nice there and the best thing is nobody has lied to him. Whatever they have told him, it happens. He was home late on Friday and was out on Monday. He called dispatch on Sunday to verify he wanted to go out and get a load. There's no forced dispatch. I was a little worried at first because they run paper logs and I was concerned that they were going to dispatch him counting on him doing funny stuff with the numbers but it's not happening either. He has time to deliver his loads while still getting his rest.
I will update in a few weeks when he is more settled in a kind of routine with loads and that, and when I'm sure that the miles are there which is the one thing that I can't be sure yet because it's too early to tell, although it looks good too. Up until now like I said before, he is really happy.BFL123 Thanks this. -
Hi Gitana, howis it going at Trucks for your husband after the first few weeks? Anything good or bad to report? How's the hometime for him? Any other relevant info would be appreciated. Thanks and have a nice holiday.
