If you'd taken the time to read some of my previous posts, you would note that I made mention of the fact that there are a couple of roads labeled parkways in NY that can be used by trucks - adding to the confusion of course.
The first time I drove the BQE, I followed the instructions given by the signs. And I had no problems navigating the city streets and then getting back on. 15 minutes tops. With a 53 and a sleeper. Imagine that. But you know everything, so it should have taken me 2 hours. Now I know better. Center lane and roll on.
And yes, below EVERY overhead parkway exit sign that trucks are not allowed to use is a large black and white sign stating 'passenger cars only'.
I spent three days last week doing local runs within the city and Long Island, so yes, I've driven in New York City before.
Years of experience in trucking doesn't always equate to knowledge, my friend. Lack of years of experience doesn't automatically mean that someone doesn't know what they're talking about, either.

I have been using Hamilton 4 ever!! Interesting thing bout it is coming into Bklyn on 278 the exit sign is marked with a truck restriction--BUT coming the other way off Linden it doesn't say anything--so it is up 2 u--just thought I would throw that out there
359 Thanks this. -
Ok kids time 2 clear up the BQE sign once & for all! And pass this along--and I have posted this b4--It is an old sign dating back from a construction repaving project--after they reoaved the RIGHT LANE under the Promenade(which by the way becomes the exit only lane 4 the BROOKLYN BRIDGE a which is restricted 2 trucks!) the nonsencacle NY snow statutory height made the overpass THEORETICALLY 2 LOW--thus the sign was never taken down!! And trying 2 get a straight answer from NY or NYC officials as to what guidelines they use in marking clearances plus snow etc--is like trying to prove who killed JFK!
But believe me U just like the other million or so trks ahead of u can go thru359 Thanks this. -
