You're ok then. At first I thought you where the type of ignoranus who drives 55 in the hammer lane when the limit is 65.

As far as tailgating cars with a truck or any vehicle for that matter it is simply a stupid and irresponsible thing to do. It's like you are inviting an accident to happen. I agree many drivers who wear turbins and come from the Brampton Ontario area are guilty of this.

What is your definition of tailgating? Trucks can sometimes stop faster than you (As a non-truck driver) would think. So your idea of tailgating may be slightly different than ours.

If you're in the proper lane, and doing 10 above the speed limit, i don't see why anyone would be tailgating you.. Unless you're one of those people who can't maintain a steady speed and slow down and speed up every couple of seconds because you can't hold your foot steady.. Not sure what to tell you.

I ran across northern ohio up across michigan tonight and I couldn't believe how the traffic was flowing. There was a 55/60 split limit for a long way out of cleveland. I ran 65 or better all the way down it. Guess how many vehicles I passed. Not a single one. Not one car, truck, not even a nerd on a moped. Everyone was running 65-90mph with not a single cop for hundreds of miles.

That would explain the tailgating, I guess. It's not that you're doing anything wrong, it's just that everyone on the road has decided to up the speed limit and nobody does anything about it.

it is pretty clear and easy choice. If you're getting tailgated, and you're already in the granny lane, but you're doing 10 over....its time to slow down and do the speed limit. make up the truck drivers mind for him. they'll get the picture, and find a way around you. I do it in my 4-wheeler, i do it in my big rig.

wanna ride my arse, atleast give me a reach around.....otherwise get the !#$% off my tail.....or ill get you off my tail.

I feel I'm being tail gated when you can't put another car between me and the person behind me but at times I would love to have that much space. I usually can't see a license plate or bumper even they get so close.

I had a guy bounce his $20k Harley off my old steel bumper doing that. Felt a bump, looked in the mirror, and saw a leg sticking straight up in the air. He and the bike were just a little scratched up, luckily.

You need to take yourself out of that situation, by changing lanes or turn off. Drivers that tailgate have a hard lesson coming, but you dont want to be the teacher in your 4-wheeler. Let em learn further up the road, or better yet let that law enforcer catch them. Granted, alot of people driving 4-wheelers overlook the fact that whats behind them is just as important as whats in front of them, but this does not give any driver the excuse to tailgate. Think about it....You get angry.....10 min. later you forget. Now, run over someone out of anger and you'll live with that the rest of your life. Always maintain a safe distance.

Isnt it wonderful? To be able to flow through Ohio instead of being bunched up in huge clusters.

I'm sorry but I can't STAND left lane sight seers!! They are horrible here in VA.... they will get in the left lane 23 miles before they have to actually turn left and stay there doing a modest 52 in a 55. They won't budge. I have seen a big truck coming and did indeed wish he would push that idiot out of the way....Better get over that feeling before I think about the CDL huh??......... :biggrin_255:

Oh dude, it was great. Even the traffic coming on the entrance ramps came on at full speed and merged right in. Nobody had to slow or swerve or anything. 10 cars could jump on at once, smooth as silk. Course they were all doing 70mph too.
