If you call Convoy on those loads and talk to one of their reps, they will usually tell you how high the shipper will go, and in many cases will call the shipper for you with your offer. Works a lot faster than simply waiting for the bid response on their app.

I had a strange occurrence happen on Uber last night. I frequently get beer loads from AB in Fairfield CA usually through Convoy, and yesterday I was scheduled to pick one up for Portland OR at 12:30. Arrived at AB and their scale was broken, so no loads going out for at least 8 hours. I called Convoy and they pulled me off the load and gave me TONU. I booked another load the following morning on Uber. Went and got settled in for the night and got a call from Uber saying that load had been cancelled. So I start looking on Convoy and there is nothing. Go to Uber and there is another beer load in the same lane as my earlier load for $3.25 per mile. I called the guard shack at AB and asked if the scale was fixed, and they said yes. So I go back to the Uber app to book the load, and the app locks up and tells me to refresh the screen. I figured that the load had been taken by somebody else, but to my surprise, the rate went up to $4.50 per mile. I guess somebody in Portland was desperate for their beer load and was willing to pay for it. I nabbed it up and delivering tomorrow. It's going to be a good week.

Take the win where you can get it, buddy. That's awesome.

    SteveScott Thanks this.
