Am currently a driver for Stevens. So far so good. As far as repayment, if you go to school in Houston, !yr no problem. Outside source 30 months plus repayment of hotels and such.

Have gotten home time when I requested, maybe a day or two off but close.

True, sometimes left hand don't know what right hand is doing but that's everywhere. Like everywhere else you have to take your lumps to get anywhere. It's not all gravy but I can't complain and have been here a year.

There is money in Alliance and anyone who says different is either lazy or has nothing better to do than complain. If you expect to make 50,000 your first year, find another job, but if you are realistic this isn't a bad company. Do what you/re supposed to and there won't be any problems.

Like I said, here a year and comfortable. Alliance out of grad fleet and haven't looked back. Now you all have to make your own decisions but that's my opinion.

'Make any money' is a relative term.
Figure a first year solo driver will average 0.28/mile and log between 100 and 125,000 miles.
    Second year will average 0.31.
Do the math and figure if that's 'any money'. Everyone has a different threshold for what 'good' money is.
These numbers are fairly standard through out the industry, give or take.
If you become a trainer, you can increase your income.
If you are a SUCCESSFUL Alliance driver, you can increase your income.
It all depends on what you want and are willing to do to achieve your goals.

Im in training now and i have to say Alliance ain't taht bad a thing. They"ll run ya hard and give ya nice equipment. My current trainer is an "owner operator" contactor *edtion*. Meh I wouldn't advise doing that. Their giving all the freight to the company and Alliance drivers.

Man - do you spend all day chasing posts related to someone's pay just so you can post the same thing?

I bet if they handed you a $100.00 bill when you left the room - you'd ##### because it wasnt a new bill.

Wait, so if you go to the Houston school it's 1 yr and no repayment? Or am I comprehending this wrong. I'm currently set to go there October 3rd (have to clear up a speeding ticket in September) and that would be great, but if not, I'm confient in my choice to go with Stevens. The school is literally five minutes up the road from my home at a community college I've been attending the past few years.

This thread is a year old so things may have changed. Im not sure. Probably best to call a recruiter and get up to date info.

Just talked to my recruiter (Lou) and it is indeed only a one year work contract with no extras. This is great news to me. I'm really liking what I've seen thus far from those at Stevens, whether it be from the drivers on this site, or from my recruiter and those I've talked to thus far. I called Swift last week as I was trying to narrow my decision between both companies, and I felt more like I was bothering the recruiter than inquiring about the company. Found out I was too young (needed to be 23), but before I could ask another question the recruiter hung up. That said enough for me. I feel as though I've made the right choice and I'm ready to get this journey started.
