Something about "I've got a bridge to sell you" comes to mind...

I hope per diem is ended and I hope that the federal income tax is abolished. Both are a ripoff and an insult to the working people

One of the few things I agree with KR about is the fair tax

So assuming that the federal income tax doesn't disappear - are your for or against a $12,000 A year tax deduction?

Let's start with - pass a balanced budget and pay down the debt BEFORE cutting taxes.

Then move on to - treat all income the same. Capital gains, interest, dividends, wages should all be taxed at the same rate.

Or maybe - eliminate all deductions and tax shelters so the statutory and effective tax rate ends up being the same.

How about - we're already on the left side of the laffler curve, so cutting taxes won't stimulate growth, it will just undermine government revenue, which in turn will mean less services, which means that taxes will be effectively raised on the majority of the people (ie McDonald's cuts the price of a Big Mac by 10% but replaces the sesame seed bun with wonder bread, eliminates a slice of cheese and all the veggies, will cutting the "beef" by 10%).
