All the following hire new cdl grads. Websites may not be up to date and still have "experience required." Apply to as many as you want, then pick the best offer. Submit applications during the first week of school; don't wait until graduation. Carolina Logistics Inc. has their own cdl school.

Sygma Network - food service usually pays well
    Watkins-Shepard
    Freymiller
    Magnum Ltd.
    Northern Refrigerated Transportation
    Halvor Lines - 48 states/Canada/occasional Alaska
Dynamic Transit - recently started hiring new cdl grads.
Pride Transport - coast to coast team or solo operation
Decker Truck Line - refrigerated coast to coast team operation
Southern Refrigerated Transport - coast to coast team operation
    System Transport - flatbed 48 states/Canada/occasional Alaska
Navajo Express - 48 state refrigerated
Leavitt's Freight Service - oversize loads
U.S. Express - good for teams; not good for solo driver.

Carolina Logistics Inc. - coast to coast teams - (Reefer, Dry Van) Team Long Haul : $.20 with $.01 increase each 3 Months (to $.25 CPM, per driver, based on experience/performance)(cpm is per driver for all dispatched miles whether driving or sleeping)
(Bonus Pay on Canada Loads (.10 cpm extra for Canada loads)

Is this a good starter company? I know they don't really have what I'm looking for as far as equipment goes but can never hurt to add more companies to the list.

Yes, it's a good place to start. I think you have to live within a certain radius of a terminal.

I will have to check that out to be sure but I am almost positive that I do. The one thing if I remember correctly I heard about them that I didn't like was you're with a trainer for like a week maybe less and then on your own? Maybe that has changed now but for some reason that stuck in my head about that company.

10 days unless you request more time. You'll probably be glad when the 10 days is over; that's long enough to be stuck in a truck with someone else.

This is correct. You make more money doing regional or local. For example JB Hunt website for job listing says OTR pays $45k regional and local pay is 50k to 67k.

Yea the more I research the more I realize perhaps a shorter training period is actually the way to go.
