Moss will give you the green butt is why I didn't share that. Sycamore leaves, now that's a different story. That's how Charmin was invented. They're squeezbly soft! :)

BTW, Peterbilt started putting Garmin's in the dash. It's a pretty cool SmartNav system.

I agree that map reading is critical for trucking. The issue is when you need to route to areas that aren't covered well by an Atlas or by local maps. Calling ahead to shippers or receivers also needs to be taken with a grain of salt (based on our recent experience), as you are at the mercy of whomever you are talking to and whether they are knowledgeable about critical situations like low overhead clearance. To this end my brother and I are often using Google Maps with Street View to be able to "drive" our route whenever possible, using binoculars whenever we see a posted overpass, and praying in earnest before we take our route.

I've also considered sacrificing a chicken on the manifold (with garlic and sage) just in case... :D

As a card holding Hillbilly I must agree that the touch of using dried Oak leaves is acquired art, the leaf stems are indeed a good nail cleaner.

Did I ever tell you about the time a city slicker wanted to go hunting and did not bring anything for personal hygiene? He found out that Poison Sumac leaves were not agreeable to his gentle disposition.
