Yep, persistence and don't job hop! The first one that hires you, treat them like a newlywed, unless they're absolutely killing your health or forcing you to do stuff under the table that shouldn't be done... If they're doing that then they ain't no good. Remember one important fact, YOU are the boss, YOU have to answer (and trust me they will blame a driver first and foremost) to all accidents, incidents, complaints, gripes , damages to equipment or property. Sorry I didn't read all the threads in here, but if you're still having a hard time and IF you already have your CDL, one thing you could do is go to all the truck stops in your area and put a note up on their corkboards or message area stating your situation and looking for any driving jobs. You might get lucky and find an owner operator that will give you a chance. One thing is though, stay at least a full year, anything under a year and most decent companies won't touch you, but a year or more will make you look pretty good to them. I started with Werner right out of trucking school and I was an ex-con, just not a recent one, my 2 felonies were about 12yrs back, but hell no I didn't put them down. But when they started running me into Canada, then I'd tell them every time that I was a felon and couldn't go--and they'd just laugh at me and give me the load anyways....

you said the right words, "I changed my life". Now if thats for the long run, i would give you a chance. Let me tell right now, YOU SCREW UP one time, I would go out of my way to see you never jump into a Commercial Vehicle EVER. Im sure
Someone will give you that chance. And they are going to say the same words i just told you. Keep to your words!! Your past is EXTREMELY difficult for
some company to take on. BUT, your HONESTY will Prevail. GOOD LUCK

Chinatown is your only chance, and he might not even be able to help you. Try contacting him. and you will be probably limited
to anything good. See if he is willing to help you. Good Luck
