That ain't all about the liberal govt. in PA. My buddy up there said if you can't afford your rent they'll make up the difference to the landlord. I just can't imagine paying taxes to a state that spends money like that.

We're supposed to be hourly inside of 150 mile air radius.
But lately if you've got a P/U on one day and a delivery the next day and it's more than 151 HUB miles?
They pay you miles!
This is how you can work 24 hours in 48 and come home with only $60!
It wasn't always like this, but all the drivers are finished. Middle management is pretending there isn't a problem and "the old man" doesn't interact with drivers like he used to.
50% of the drivers will be leaving by summer. -
By summer?????? If you are still working there after Friday ( TODAY) you have noone, and I mean NOONE to blame but yourself. You have a skill set; it is worth $$ and there are companies who WILL pay you for it. Go find one. Now.UKJ Thanks this. -
Ha! Good luck with the PA unemployment office! Our work has slowed quite a bit the last 2 weeks, and I just opened my first claim. The hoops you gotta jump through to get approved are nut. And by the time I see any money from them, I'll be back to work, so was it worth it?

there must be more trucking companies between Philly-Allentown-York
then the rest of the country combined
gotta be a couple that aren't terrible -
For the record, changing jobs takes time.
It's been 7 days and I've ONLY had four interviews.
While running freight through a blizzard at that.
Sarcasm aside, I've gotten a few offers already but I need to schedule interviews (AROUND my current schedule AND while keeping the boss in the dark)
I've got one "preferred" outfit I'd like to hear back from before jumping into a company that will hire me sooner but doesn't offer comparable "perks" (shorter commute times, better equipment, customers with docks as opposed to curbside, etc.)
I started this thread as a rant but I'll update as the situation dictates.
