If the truck is in your name, get personal temporary motor vehicle insurance, plate it, make sure all DOT numbers, company name and any other reference to it being a commercial carrier are removed or duct taped over and drive it home. Do not cross the scales or pull in, you are not a commercial vehicle, I have lots of experience buying trucks from all over, I've been pulled over once and released when the Iowa DOT realized he had no case. (Lol, and he was pissed off) perfectly legal.

Got the local DMV of the state you bought it in. Get a travel permit. And each state there after. Till your home.

I drove from TX to NV it cost me $ 125. In permits. Your fuel will cost more.

Stick your permits in the window
And drive. Most are two days to two week permits.

Save the drama. Get it home safely.

So how did it turn out? Fixn to to the same thing from NV to oklahoma. I'd think a hunters unladen permit would b best because suppose to be recognized in all lower 48 states. And only $25 in Oklahoma. I don't want any hassles but don't want to pay any extra either lol.

Ok. I called each state ( NV, AZ, NM, TX) and apparently ok rep I talked to didn't no, hunters is ONLY for quitting 1 job and them taking their irp plate and cab card. And u going to/through states to find another job/company. If traveling through any of these state and u didn't pay/give them their part, you WILL be fined and ticketed if caught. Their "therory" is u don't hv a cab card or apportioned tag you don't have right to travel their state. Bottom line, they want your money and fines cost 3-5 times the permits
