Wow... I messed up a bunch of shifts and a few times just jammed into gear.
Aldo got a lecture from the examiner about slowing WAY down before turns, checking mirrors more often on the frreway (didnt wear a hat that time) and if you cant see at a crossroads, pull up and stop again and dont pull out in front of a deputy sherriff's car!
Took the test 5 x's...flunked parking 3 x's, forgot to turn truck off on airbrake test ( nailed it 4 other x's ) but I did finally pass.
So hang in there! Mary
Trying to remain positive... But #### !

Stay calm, take a deep breathe. Your opp will come along soon. Like u said there's a reason. Good luck.
mje Thanks this. -
When I was in school we had a guy on his very first turn out of the DPS office forget about going wide. Drive the tandems right over the curb onto a landscaped hill. Almost rolled the rig. Actually picked the passenger drives off the ground and a tow truck had to be called to pull it off the hill. Came back the next day and passed. Different examiner though, first one refused to ride with him again. Keep the faith brother, you CAN do it. Getting a job after is the easy part.
Lone Gunman and mje Thank this. -
It shouldn't be that hard man. Whatever methods you are using to learn, change them. When I was a student, I would pretend that I was sitting in the front of the trailer like I was driving a bus. All of my turns were based on me imagining that I was sitting back there. Follow the path of your trailer tires. Imagine a line on the ground and follow it. To be honest if you cannot get the hang of a simple road test I am not sure how you will be able to blind side uphill in the dark during a hard rainstorm with only four inches of wiggle room in an indoor dock made for straight trucks.

Try possibly not being so forthcoming with things that are nobody's business. No need to tell a recruiter all that. All they needed to know was you weren't done yet.

I didn't pass the road test on my first try, I should just give up.....
THAT my friend was sarcasm !
I DO NOT give up !
Knock Me Down Four Times, I'm Getting Right Back Up Five Times !!!
But thank you for your helpful reply*
*Yep, Sarcasm again.... -
Actually i should correct myself, the first half of your post was helpful.
its that second part....mje Thanks this. -
TMC will hire you...tookme 2 tries to pass CDL
mje Thanks this. -
Lone Gunman youre going to ace this. For some it just takes alittle bit longer but believe me you're going to pass and in time be one of the best drivers on the road.Don't let a recruiter get you down and move backwards towards your learning.Don't try to remain positive, STAY POSITIVE. Also don't tell recruiter about your difficulties, some things are better left unsaid because for news you got from your last recruiter. You don't need added stress to working at passing to get your CDL.Plz keep this thread updated on your progress.
Lone Gunman Thanks this.
