Trying to track down my Trailer Inspection

    That's got to be a Texas thing for Texas-registered equipment. I had one of my trailers DOT'd at the SE Dallas T/A and was never asked for proof of insurance.

    Now that I think about it, that same trailer of mine has an old expired TX inspection sticker on it that is clearly different than the standard FMCSA form. I remember it because I tried to remove it. The extra cost must be for the official Texas superglue they use on the back of it.

    Yeah it has to be a state requirement like states that inspect 4 wheelers.

    I know the inspection regulations pretty well on the FMCSA level and can't recall any specific regulation saying that. I even read over the insurance regulations and didn't see anything.

    I've lived in a couple states where you show your insurance when you get your tags.


    Edit: Here it is. It wasn't hard to find. It's a Texas thing. I just copied part of the law. It's the first thing stated.

    I believe it's form MC-90. You can print that off and get it filled out.

    here it's probably just an extra measure to keep illegal immigrants out of the driver's seat
