Just a question, regarding time off, I see some companies offering 7/7, 14/7, 5/2, is this the schedule that they offer? So 7 on 7 off would be I work 7, then off 7, then work 7, off 7, etc. Is that correct?

Ok was just curious, seems like it would be a part time job with something like u on 7 off, or thinking it was maybe a bait and switch type of situation where they constantly need you to work on your days off

It basically is part timrm With 7 on 7 off You get full time benifits but roughly half the pay. You dont get paid to not work. You would probibly make less than 30k a year doing that.
Also some places will have you out more than 14 days

I do 21 on seven off through Schneider due to how far I live from the terminal, 300 miles or so

7 on then 7 off? How are you going to be able to make any money that way. When I did OTR I worked 36 days and then came home to relax. If you don't want to work then why drive? You want to be home then find a local job there are so many of them that pay well.

I didn't say I wanted to work 7 on 7 off, I'm trying to understand what that schedule would be, whether it's actually 7 on 7 off, or on your off days you have to be ready to work in case they need you, or if they just flat out lie, etc

7 on 7 off is for retired truck drivers that don't want to work full time any more. You would have to share a truck and no taking the truck home. That schedule requires you live close to a terminal

    ajohnson Thanks this.
