sorry if this isn't the correct place to ask. i just wanna know if i can check "no" for the question about involuntary commitment. basically i was sent to a psych ward and let out after a day. the cops were involved, but i don't have any sort of criminal record. didn't go to court or anything either. it looks like involuntary commitment is when a court is involved or you're kept for longer than 72 hours, but i'd like to see what people here have to say.

i asked someone that seems to have been through something similar and he said he just said no and everything was fine. he advised that i do the same, but still, i'd like to get more input.

    Just select no.
Sounds like you were just sent to be evaluated and let go. Happens a lot when a person tells someone they want to commit suicide and that person turns around and calls the cops. Cops are obligated to send you for a ride to be checked out.

    Treat it as nothing happened.

@Concorde @cuzzin it that is fantastic. just to make sure that i'm being clear. i was sent there and wasn't allowed to leave until after a day. and it's like @Concorde said. the cops had me sent there in an er vehicle. i was evaluated and let out.

You’re good to go, just say no. Been through it myself and still was able to get badged into nuclear power plants.

Involuntary commitment is when a judge orders you to a psychward or detained in-patient treatment. 72hr holds aka baker act or 5150's are not classified as involuntary commitment. If during that time a physician/doctor requests a court hearing for adjudication then you might be committed against your will but the judge would have to order it.

If you haven't stood in front of a judge you should put down No.

got a couple questions for ya then. did you do the application online or in person, and which of the 3 companies did you go with for the precheck?

Just say no, most importantly, NEVER bring it up in a conversation, or any kind of talk session, regardless of who you're talking with.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.
