Just saw a thread about a guy doing the on site application for jobs here, I'm assuming the one from hitting the "Truck Driver Jobs" tab up top. I'm not sure what to think about these mass application things. However, this appears to be a reputable site, so I'd trust it, but I just wanted to check in with you guys to see if you had any experience with it, and if it was helpful to you.

I have to admit that it's not very useful yet. I just launched it this month and I'm still discovering bugs and working to get reputable trucking companies in the system. It would be a lot faster if it just worked with all the mega carriers, but that's not how I want to do things. Since I'm doing it the hard way, it's going to take several months before the job finder application is something to be proud of.
rockee, vikingswen, Chase05 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I mean companies that hire with recent felonies, not the ones with a years waiting period.Last edited: Jun 25, 2013
Admin Thanks this. -
I definitely want to get more 'second chance' trucking companies in there. Plenty of people have had rough patches at some point in their personal lives, it shouldn't be held against them forever.
Edit to your edit: Yeah, those too. Definitely fewer reputable companies in that category, though.Chinatown and superpet39 Thank this. -
Hey Admin, thanks for getting back to me. So, can I assume that you already have most of the mega carriers in the system? That would make it useful enough for me already (still a student), lol. It sounds like you're working to make something pretty awesome. Can't wait to see how it turns out, I'm sure I'll be taking advantage of it.
I'll filling an app out on it sometime this week then. I'll post back in here to let everyone know what kind of feedback it gets me. -
No, I don't have any of the mega carriers in the system. I'm trying to build it with small to mid-size fleets that take better care of their drivers. It's a lot more work, but I think it's worth doing. It's going slow so far, I might have to lower my standards and start adding mega carriers next month.

So, would you say this site's application is best for experienced drivers, or do you believe there are already some companies included that do, or at least might, hire student drivers?''
Either way, do you think it would hurt to have the megas in there? Perhaps there could be an option, or even company checklist? -
I'm trying to build this service to help drivers get matched with better small to mid-size companies, and if I focus on drivers and the small companies first then that's who I'll be getting feedback from and making changes to help. If I'm working with the megas to start with, it's their feedback that will guide changes. It's probably better to have megas than not to have them, but I think catering to the big guys first goes against the spirit of the site.
There are good non-mega carriers that will take new drivers. For instance, Melton is in our system and is hiring drivers for flatbed work right out of school. Those are the kind of opportunities I want to help drivers find.
I'd like to do a checklist, but there are some programming hurdles to get it integrated so realistically it's something that will have to wait a few months.Chase05 Thanks this. -
I know enough about programming that you can't "just" add in features, lol. Good to know you're really working on this thing and planning further improvements.
I definitely understand what you mean about feedback from the initial companies in your system. Makes a lot of sense. I've heard a lot of other sites application that claim to be like this are just for the bottom feeder companies , and just result in you getting spammed by lousy companies, so I'm really excited to hear that this isn't gonna be like that.
