Turbo blankets, I've always been a bit suspect of these things , but wow, I installed one and it has dropped my EGT by 20 to 30 degrees C. Reduced max EGT by 20C and cruise EGT by 30C. I'm convinced they are worth installing

What does that mean in real world gains? Better MPG? Longer mechanical duty cycle?

From my understanding , better fuel economy and less engine wear, and more power because exhaust is easier for engine to get it out of exhaust system. I could be wrong but if every thing I've read is true then I'm correct

This is why I have a ported/polished/coated exhaust manifold with a larger BW turbo with a PTP turbo blanket, and high flow mufflers on the stacks. Really drops the EGT's across the board.

A place that makes high quality turbo blankets is the one I got mine from.....

im getting there Cowpie , hoping to match port my exhaust manifold this weekend. I also ordered a Donaldson 463 and exhaust wrap. My EGT are in spec but on the high side and water temp climbs a little quicker than what I like, so thats why im doing mods to reduce EGT a little bit, currently my EGT are 900 on a hard pull and 950f lugging on hard pull with 90,000lbs Gross.

My EGT's on a warm day, on a hard pull up a hill, close to 80K gross usually stays under 800F. Most times hardly above 750F. Only if I really lug it down will the temps rise somewhat. Even then, rarely touches 900F. That's with a 500hp Detroit 60 12.7.

The series 60 does real stellar on a hard pull, with the better manifold, turbo, blanket, mufflers, etc if it is held right around 1500, give or take. I can keep it right in that area of the tach, and spend all day crawling hills and never see high EGT temps. I have no problem running it at 1350 - 1400 for normal cruising and still have low EGT's. I rarely take it above 1600 rpm. That is with a pre-egr 12.7 series 60. The 14L will do well slightly lower on the tach. Just have to find where it likes to do it's thing. That is the great thing about a boost gauge and a pyrometer!
