The question is why were they damaged? Without answering that question nobody can help you. Was it due to:
- Thrust washer damage, whole turbo replacement is required
- Overspeeding the turbo, turbo should be rebuilt/replaced
- Foreign objects entering the turbo, it's possible to just replace the wheel
It's also something that a home mechanic shouldn't do because the turbo needs to be balanced. -
Plastic bag got sucked in, there is no shaft play.

Ok, how did a plastic bag get sucked into the turbo.. Just curious.
And if the story involves beer this might be kinda funnyrollin coal and Cetane+ Thank this. -
Wheel cannot be replaced separately. You install a new/reman turbo.

Is replasing turbo on detroit egr 14 same as in non egr, i have replaced few non egr turbos but never egr, just wondering, thx

To the op, a reputable shop should be able to swap in a new wheel for you depending on the turbo, there may be such a case as you need to buy the chra but you will be able to keep your housings. -
Well, new turbo is over 2k so if they could replace wheel i would go that way, also could freightliner replace wheel, i'm in st louis any shops around here who could do this, thx
