I know its not a cat but we also run a 171702 on our mack E-7 (12L) and its really not laggy at all. 30 psi way down @1200 and tops out 43ish. With stage 2 injectors and rack opened up egt's stay below 1000 still
We lost just a hair of low end snap but not enough to ##### about and we run mostly 2 lane hill country @80k. What we gained in the middle made it worth it to loose just a bit on bottom
I run 5” down pipe into dual 8” straights, so maybe with a bigger manifold the air flow will offset that little bit of extra lag. I’m not usually on highway and always local driving so I really need that low end especially with c12. Anyhow, I’ll give this setup a try. Maybe this week if I can get this shop to tweak my tune with it
