I need to know if there is and O ring gasket on the top of the turbocharger or just the flat plate just like the bottom.
Also how hard is it to fix the oil leak.
I am going to be working on it this weekend and need help fast thanks!!!!!!

The plate that I am talking about is the one with a square rubber gasket with the bolt holes for the bolts that go though. I believe that is the one for the bottom of the oil side. I also was needing to know if there is an o ring in the top where the oil goes in.

If you take the arrangement number off the valve cover and the serial number of the engine to any Cat dealer they can give you the correct part. I would bet it is the plate with the seal ring, as an integral part of it.

supply line is part number 126-2704
return line is part number 126-2702
Now I've also seen a 5EK with an O-ring on the oil supply line........... part number 6J-2245 or intergrated seal and plate 198-6068
This same engine also could have used an O-ring on the return oil line........ part number 6V-6228
The best thing to do is have the parts people look it up with your particular engine serial number.........but the above mentioned 5EK has both part numbers listed for these lines..........if you have this problem then tear it down and see which you have and hand carry your old parts in to allow the parts guy to match it. -

The turbo on my cummins 444 has oil leaking out of where it connects to the exhaust pipe. I don't want to hijack the thread but is that what you are seeing?

On a 444 you have to be careful they are notorious for having fuel slobber if idled and not covered in. You can get oil dye Cummins part # 3376891.
do the test as written on the bottle it is great stuff and will not hurt the oil.
Just a thought! -
I'm not really picking up what you're putting down. What is fuel slobber? The engine mostly idles while I opperate the crane, the truck only gets driven once a month, maybe two. What do you mean by covered in?
