    Skip was rolling hard earlier today Texas was crashing into northeast PA..

    Had several good contacts from the pickup with my little X Force 4-pill in and around Big D..

    Around noon time some west coast started rolling in also..

    I haven't shot skip in ages so I'm not up on the slang like I once was.


    One quick question, where is "the BYU" ?? A dude I chatted with said I was making the trip into "the BYU"...Did he mean the Bayou Country because I seriously doubt I was getting into Utah around Brigham Young University.. LOL

    I managed to make 1 contact to California on channel 14. I can't recall his call number but it was in the 500's.

    I was on 28, tried on 11 and 15 but couldn't get anything done with the 4 pill.. :(

    I don't even bother with 6 their drivers are bigger than my whole setup..

    Been having good luck on 26 and 28 talking up and down the East coast from Nebraska this past week. Will be back at it tomorrow while hauling pigs. Having issues with my am/fm radio so it gives me something to do while on the road :biggrin_25523:

    Unless you have more watts than brain cells or cash, don't bother on 6....you'll never get heard...heck today I listened to 6 for a little bit, flipped the channel either direction and could still hear them bleeding thru on the next 4 channels either direction.

    I was on 28 briefly but no contacts.

    not sure where i was getting on 6 today at about 4pm... I told them i was here in Minnesota, and he replied saying he heard me, but he didnt say where he was, and when i asked and he responded there were too many people talking to hear. but i believe he was on a coast ha.

    LOL, yeah those big hammers tend to bleed a little !

    Only once I talked on 6, I was running an X Force 6 pill in my old F150....I was at my buddies house which is way up in elevation near the airport...We pulled the truck around behind his house then he threw me some coax off the deck which was hooked to his beam....Can't remember how many elements that beam was but it was pointed south that day, got into Florida for a breif time before the big boys squashed me. :eek:

    I go by Big Mike on AM and Six Eight (my height) if I wander up too SSB...might try it again today if it starts to roll again..

    I worked a station in Bosnia-Herzegovina, a new country for me on 11M. I also worked stations in Ukraine,Macedonia,Germany, France,England,Spain and Portugal. I also heard stations calling Kenya, I could not copy them but they were creating quite a pile-up.
