I have a 2014 Pete/386. The fuse keeps blowing for the right turn signal. The trailers all still work, but not the truck. We have changed out the tail lights and pig tails, because there was some corrosion. It's weird because the left tail signal goes out too. Not the right. Called Peterbilt and these newer trucks don't have flashers. Can't find the problem. May have to take it to peterbilt for $100/hr :biggrin_25512:

Might look for a pinched or crushed wire. Maybe
replace bulbs & flasher first to rule that out.
I once found the running lights wire smashed
behind the dash (dash lights). Find the color and
follow them through, just like the dealer would do.

That's all multi-plexed, other than tracing wires, there's not much you can do without Paccar ESA. Is the warranty out already?

usually bad wiring. usually in tail lamp area (becouse of dirt from drives) ore side lamps

just disconnect frame tail lamp wires from cab (connector is under cab) and check fuse.

I had the same issue, I replaced the light cord. Problem was solve. And this was after I replace the fuse with a breaker and chased all the electrical. Last resort was the light cord and solve that problem, i bought a phillips cord.

On my 2009 Western Star, the repeaters on the hood had an intermittent ground problem. It made the brake lights come on dim when using a turn signal!
Removed the 2 small marker light bulbs and it was OK for a while, but then started it again. Found the bad ground wire on a rivet and redid it with a bolt. Problem sorted.

Follow the wires from the bulbs back to the harness to look for anything suspicious. Unplug any connectors in the line, and maybe disconnect the entire external wire harness, to see if the fuse will then survive to that particular point (locates the fault).

Thank you all for your responses. My pete does have the multi-plexed wiring, which is just crazy. After reading responses and checking into the internet more, the whole problem was either the light cord for the trailer or turn signal switch. We got tired of searching and replaced both. The turn signal switch cost over $200.00 at Peterbilt. :biggrin_2556: Everything works now... :biggrin_25520: Sure miss the old days without all this computer crap on cars and trucks. Now multi-plex wiring... Come on.. Probably a scam to keep you going back to the dealer. Thanks again..

Now look up the part numbers on ebay and amazon, to look for any lessons (savings).
