on my 95 fld, i replaced my turn signal switch a few months ago because my high beam switch died and sometimes you had to hold a little pressure on the leaver to keep the right hand turn signal on. after i replaced the switch everything has been working fine till now. now sometimes my turn signals don't want to come on when i flip the switch though i found if my headlights or marker lights are on the turn signals work flawlessly. also sometimes taping the break lights will get them working if the lights are off.

this probably just started today so i haven't done much to try to figure it out yet. so far all i have done is unplugged the signal switch made sure the contacts were clean and plug it back in and made sure the plug was tight.

if you have owned this FLD for a while, you must already know about the windshield leaking behind center dash onto electrical/breaker/relay junction.pull your blinker relay and it will most likely be green.pull and check all other relays while you are at it.good luck.

iv owned this fld for a few years now, never really had any windshield leak issues though. only time anything gets past the seal is if i get a little too carried away with the pressure washer right on the seal trying to get bugs off. i haven't even popped the cover open yet to check anything out yet, ill take a peek in there shortly though as i just got parked for the night.

still doing the same thing today as yesterday just ended up running with my headlights on all day so my turn signals would work

i just checked it out, everything was clean no corrosion, mine does have a non factory solid state flasher unit that is not mounted in the stock location, so has wire leads comming from where the flasher unit would be and i found one of them to be slightly loose. so i spread the pins slightly for a better fit, first check they seem to be working, we will see tomorrow if they work all day or not, i don't know how that would cause them to work when the headlights are on but not when off though so im not too confidant that i found the problem just yet.

Bad grounds can make lights do funny things especially on the turn signal blinker circuit.

LOL! i think that about describes it.

it was better today they worked today but there was typicaly a 2-4 second delay between the time that i flipped the switch till the signals actually started working. its got to be a bad ground or loose connection somewhere but the question is where...lol

just to be clear i am not just talking about 1 bulb everything, all lights dash indicators all exterior lights everything. flip the switch and nothing happens unless the headlights or markers are on. or today they worked but were delayed most of the time, flip the switch and 2-4 second later everything starts working
