Yeah but with a 900 spread he could at least drop the nose of the trailer on the ground and use his ginpoles and winch and put the trailer where he wants it then back it up. Ive seen that done on a location or two.:biggrin_255:

When have you ever seen a spread trailer behind an oilfield gin truck.Spreads are not used for oil field work They would be scrap iron in less than a day.To light weight. With the close tandems on oilfield floats just turn them around Lot less work.
But I have never seen a 900 Spread so maybe thats somthing new in the oil field.

Yes So you know what would happen to that spread axle when he twisted it around like he is doing in the vid.Instant scrap iron.

Not necceserily, if he had a lift rear axle he would be ok, i never ever try to turn on dime like that.... Then again ive never got myself into a pickle like that.

There this one underground place in carthage MO, you drive into a cave, well lets just say when i had my shorter ex hd 379 Pete 2nd time i went there i decided to back in that 1/4 mile...... Just not enough room to pull a U turn.

Well unless drilling rig platforms are a lot bigger now instead of being in a pickle thats a commen thing to do.I have seen one truck push the trailer of the other truck around But most oilfield trucks do have good front bumpers they are not to shiny.About the only spread axles I have seen were OTR hauling pipe. Not behind a gin pole truck in the oil field. Those trailers are built heavy A 35 or 40 foot O.F.trlr.wll handle 50 tons or more and a lot of times you use the winch to drag the load on the trlr.

Yeah ive seen some of them, i think the main reason im sure they buy em is price and manuverbility, but you are right they are built tough.

In my first post i ment that those kinda manuvers would be hard to pull off in W900 with a spread reefer (what i pull)

O yes I have seen that tryed with a float not good worse if you cant deflate air bags on one axle,
What are you doing on a oil rig with a reefer.:biggrin_2559:Wait now I know.Joints are 32ft long,Dope is in 5 gal.buckets and there is a Pusher on every rig so why not a Reefer.:yes2557:
