In Japan, when drivers come to a red light, it's common for them to turn off their headlights to reduce glare for the drivers across from them. However, the argument is that drivers forget to turn them back on.

But...this little act of nice culture in Japan will be going away as of 2021.
    Japan makes automatic headlights mandatory

I liked this custom and continued to practice it over hear. I did, however, give up vomit porn after detoxing from all the Sapporo and sake I drank.

My question would be if their head lights were on low beam why would there be much glare anyway or are their low beams still to bright?
