Both usually built with bumper stops ending how much you can acually turn preventing you from tweeking out the assembly. Thus ending how much you can actually turn.
Think of it as a bycicle sprocket.
Smaller gears are easier to turn but having to peddle faster, topping out at a lower speed.
Where a bigger sprocket, harder to peddle, turn slower, but allow you to go faster.
As otr driving requires long periods of driving behehind the wheel the trucks are built more for comfort having less of a need to turn as much as a local day cab their steering radious is geared down more for eas and comfort over convienence. Especialy them old classic type trucks.
Where a day cab spends less time on the road and more time manuvering , it would be geard up for a tighter turning and have less splines in the collumn.
Like wise I'm sure day cabs are geard up differantly. Some trucks are better engineered in some areas than others. Some may focus more on Hpower others electronics, others durability.
I don't know if that makes any sence to you or not.Last edited: Oct 17, 2012
