A 350 will seem lazy and be laboring when you're heavy. In comparison, a 425 is definitely a breath of fresh air, world of difference!

This 350 seems lazy pulling its self around. Ha ha ha lol. By turning the fuel screws that increases HP correct. Is it possible to turn a 350 upto a 425 ?? Or is it to much stress on it? Don't most engines have a range of HP you can set it at. I know guys with later model trk seem like they get them turned up for better power. Guess ill have to see about getting more out of this one or finding a 425 motor or trading up in the future.

If you want to make it a beast go ahead and turn it up, it'll take it, just keep an eye on things.

If it's that doggy there must be something causing it. The fuel pump has a timing advance mechanism and they do fail. I would look into it before you make any changes.

It probably is me making it seem worse. I've only driven one other truck a 99 ih with a cummins ism set at 400 or might of been 370 with a ten speed it pulled better it seems thou. So I don't have much to compare too. How do I check the timing is there a spring or weights but I think its probably ok it pulls ok on flat road really just seems to fall off on the hills and at higher speeds.

The timing advance is on the pump drive gear. It sits in that cone shaped part of the front gear cover. You diagnose it by symptoms, low power, smoke, poor fuel mileage etc.

I doubt its bad then because I have no smoke just little on cold start which clears up in a minute or so after starting. No smoke when I step on it pulling either. And I get good mileage around 6.5 previous owner got 6.8 just lacking power on the hills mostly.

If you want a 425 then all you do is add an air charge cooler up front and your 350 becomes a 425, everything else is the same.
