Hi everyone. It's been quite a while since I've given you an update.
So far so good. It still uses oil, about a gallon between services. I was told that is normal. ( I didn't bother to tell them I would expect nothing less from a Detroit. At least not from my experience.) As far as the mileage goes, it's been 25,000 now and I average any where between 5.2 and my best was 5.8. I did get a delta P update, I service every 10,000 mi. and that's about it. I was told by Detroit in Gary,IN that I might continue to get better mileage up to 100,000 miles. After that, it is what it is. But I'm happy, I now get at least what I use to with the old gummer.
I hope all are doing well. I have been doing great( freight wise) even made enough to do a little sprucing up around the house.
Have a great and safe summer, and I'll keep you posted as things occure. hugs

RedForeman, SL3406 and Les2 Thank this.

Higgy, stay out of dealers and factory shops. I'm in the Dayton-Cincy area,ALL of the repairs I can't do myself go to Mainland Diesel Corp. They are @ exit 175 on I-71-75 just south of Cincinnati top shelf work @ a fair price. Before I found them I bobtailed to Hunter Peterbilt in Erie,Pa. I am gonna dead thread this....

If you are focused on the purchase price of a $2800 tuner and not seeing the $10,000 fuel savings by the increased fuel efficiency, You are focused on the wrong thing.

Did you miss the Company truck part? If I had my own it would be tuned no doubt in my mind.

I didn't catch the company truck part.

I wouldn't buy one for them to benefit from either.

there is 5% difference in fuel mpg between 11r22.5 and low pro 22.5. 11r22.5 are not good for mpg or total weight. http://www.conti-online.com/generat...neraluniversity/tire_talk/low_profile_en.html
