    Some mechanic. 1500 rpms is 4500 injections per minute.

    I do know us old folks don't like learning knew things.
    Newer technology is better.

    My new Camaro has a LS3 Corvette engine. Its compression ratio is 11.5 to 1. Highest Chevy has ever made.

    It runs at 11 to 1, except when I put the screws to it. How is that possible.

    Try that with a strait mechanical engine.

    It's a simmily for what's going on with diesel engines.

    You can rap yourself around aND love that 'ol hunk of iron, but that's what it is, old.

    Crap my math was off lol. 1500 rpm x 6 cylinders = 9000. Divide that by 2 because they only fire every second stroke. Guess I need to go back and edit my previous post lol.

    What's bad for the motor is when that dealer flashes a low emissions tune in your truck. Then suddenly 500 hp feels weaker than the original 400 you went in there with. Turbo takes three weeks to spool, only power seems to be at 1500 rpm or better, etc.

    @Dave_in_AZ
    Are you saying your static compression changes from 11.5 to 1 to 11 to 1 depending on how much gas you give it?

    Nothing more I can add Six. Only to say when it is built right by your own hands it is a satisfaction that can't be matched!!

    You are correct sir. For you guys that want to get a truck turned up, DO NOT go to a dealer. By law, the dealer has to put the BigBrotherIsWatching ECM tune in your truck. You do not want this.

    I don't consider my old heap a big hammer, I am confident enough to say your gonna have to way better than that to even get close enough to smell my wagon or see my tail lights.

    There was a guy where I used to work that had a W9 with that 15 liter CAT motor with the twin turbos.
    They took those off, and put a single turbo on it that's about the size of my steering wheel.
    Did a bunch of stuff to it.
    Dyno'd at 900 HP.
