Nobody will turn that motor up very much past 450 if they have any brains. Your hard parts won't handle it. You don't have the right pistons injectors or turbo. Those pistons would melt down in a hurry if they set it higher then 500. If you want more power get a different motor. Even the the 450 isx can't be turned up much.

That would be illegal and unethical, lmfao.wore out Thanks this.

But if there were an ISX that put out say 725 HP, just in theory of course, the weak spot would probably be the head gasket. In fact it would probably fail two different times, in theory, once hydraulicing the motor, and putting a rod through the top of a piston, in theory, cause it would be a DEF motor of course.
But in theory, I'd just bet you'd find the head gasket to be the thorn in your side, so as to keep you humble, if such an engine existed.

Well, its a Cummins. Chances are if you turn it up too much, it'll throw a rod through the block.

The thing about turning up power isn’t just turning up and moving on. There is people that will turn your 400 Cummins into a 700 Cummins.. and your 1650 torque to 2300lbs. But one wrong move bye bye drive line.... or transmission. Your truck power is built to those specs. A 400 Cummins can be turned up to a 450 With no issues. But your speed and rpm won’t change. You’ll have to change the gearing for that

One guy I worked with did the delete and turned his isx up to just over 700 hp .. 3 months later he broke the block in half you could look right through it .. I was following him that day and he wasn't running it hard but was heavyDave_in_AZ Thanks this.

I have a isx 600 hp, from the factory. I asked around what was the difference between mine and a 475 or 525. Nothing, but the ecm. I'm glad my driveline is factory built to take the 600 and the 2050 ft lbs of torque. I was told most new owners don't order the 600 because the warranty is twice what it is for the 500-550.
With 336 rears and 22.5's I run about 68 mph at 1400 rpm. with that I av. about 6 mph +-. I like the reliability of the truck already built for power. If I was going to change anything, it might be the rear ratio. Or I would get it reflashed for better mpg, say by Pittsburgh power or something along those lines.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
475 and higher are the highj power models. The 450 and down are the different parts
hellpatrol and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
