Truck driving has always appealed to me because I enjoy driving and seeing new places, even if it is predominately interstates.
25 months ago I was involved in an injury accident in a personal motor vehicle. no drugs, no alcohol. icy conditions. snow covered road. as I exited my subdivision to cross a two lane road it took me a few seconds to gain forward momentum 3-5 mph, from around a curve a vehicle emerged traveling at about 50 mph. we collided in the middle of the road. since i entered the roadway I am at fault (wish I could see around curves). anyhow me and my passenger were both injured. Keeping that in mind should I have a reasonable expectation of landing a job with a good company any time soon?
Also, what companies will train me for my class A cdl and endorsements and also hire me. So I do not have to pay for the school out of pocket?
    I appreciate the help. Tim

:blob8:Hard to say, depends on the company.
As it has been said on here many times, there is an abundance of wannabe drivers right now. The economy has many folks looking for a job, and many think driving a truck is a good choice.
Since there a lot of applicants, these companies are choosier than they were several years ago.
One ticket, with accident, is probably acceptable to some carriers. Some not, depends on your work history, other factors.
Most of these companies that would train you are not the best to work for. Read the other forums for names. Plenty of info on this site, just take a look, then choose some that sound good to your situation, and start calling the numbers. A good idea is to check into local training at your local techinal schools, and the truck driver training schools. They offer financing. Good luck, its a hard job, and not what people think it is.:smt039

I am sure the job has its draw backs, all jobs do. My last career i was a cop (twenty years). Never wrote a ticket to a trucker. No ticket issued for the accident, just a simple no registration, but it was her car. My driving record is otherwise clear. If not for the accident I thought I would be a very nice fit for any trucking company.

the accident was in a personal vehicle, and just a tad over 2 years ago now, i see no real problem, but you will have to explain this on many job applications.

there are quite a few trucking companies that offer training, but i'd advise you to finance the school loan yourself and go to a private school..

from THIS DAY ON.....keep your driving record CLEAN......
