My first physical is from November 2006, right before I went into school. It's a 2 year physical.

My second physical is from April 2007, from when I was hired at my current company. It's a 1 year physical.

I keep the 2 year out, mostly because I don't want to have to get another on in April, but also because it doesn't list me as having to use glasses. The physical and CDL were both finished before I got glasses, and I can drive without them.

Do I get a choice? And is it likely my company has a copy of my 1 year on file? I tried to give them the 2 year, but it was more than 60 days old, so they made me get the new, 1 year physical.

AGREED! YOU have to go with the most recent physical.

Ugh, I was afraid of that. Maybe this year I'll be able to get a 2 year, since I won't be stressing the entire time.

Stressing the entire time? It sounds as though you were issued a one-year card because of high blood pressure. If so, see your personal physician and get the blood pressure under control before the year is out. It may be more than "white coat anxiety".

I believe each company will require a new physical to be done at their clinic using their company docs. This is to prevent fraud from drivers using a "sympathetic" doctor or friend to green light a questionable drivers physical.

Example; My spouse recently attended AAA Truck Driver School In Harrisburg Pa. Prior to beginning class she had to get a drug screen and go through a DOT physical at a clinic of their choosing to certify she was not only drug free but physically capable of operating a CMV all at her cost. She passed both and had a 2 year physical approved.
After completing the training course she is now employed with me at Eastern Freightways where they required another drug screen and a new physical from their company approved clinic even though she had a 2 year physical DOT card issued less than 2 months prior. The good thing is the company paid for the 2nd drug screen and DOT physical.

Now I do not know if this is simply "company policy" (and may vary from place to place) or actually buried in the FMCSA regs.

some companies will accept a physical that is less than 30 days old, it is a company policy whether they accept your physical or not
