Yeah, they pay for a ride on the grey dog - not that that's a benefit! They will also provide you the equivalent of a bus ticket to offset driving your POV there (they have a secure lot) or to defray an airline ticket.
The Campus Inn is owned by Rob Low, so staying there is on the company's tab. It's not that bad - you'll probably have a roomate. You can pick up a wifi signal there. Meals are provided in the cafeteria (food is good, but don't expect 5-star!) up to a certain dollar amount - you pick more than that, and you'll need some cash. Evening meal is over at the Millenium building. The steaks are great - so definitely bring some cash. There's an ATM at the Millenium building, and the bank next door to the Campus Inn. WallyWorld at the corner of Glenstone and Kearny... its walking distance from the Campus Inn. Prime shuttle will get you most places you need to go. Doesn't run late though.
Depends on your experience. If it's class A OTR and recent - no. Otherwise, maybe. Depends on the road test and what safety thinks. 10,000 miles works out to a couple of weeks - may be useful in just figuring out how Prime does things, especially if you've never done reefer before. -
Thanks your info is helpful, are u running 3 weeks on the road then 2 days off? or are you home more? sorry fo r all the guestions but if I dont ask I dont know right? YEs I have over 1,000,000(million miles) over the road! I want to run and make money and still have quality time with my family!!!!

Not a problem... I'm usually out for 6 - 8 weeks. 3 - 4 is the company line, and how long you stay out is going to depend on your circumstances. Lets face it, if the wheels aren't turning, you're not going to be paid. That being said, the time you're out needs to pay for the time you're off. For me, the 3 - 4 week deal and then home doesn't work moneywise.

I personally went to a private CDL training school before being hired on with Prime. I think my CDL school was fantastic and do recommend them to people. But with that said, if I could do it all over again, I would have started with Prime from day 1.
My CDL school = A yard to practice backing on, and specific routes for driving.
Prime CDL school = Real world experience.
Nuff' said.
